Clinical Nurse Educator, Hematology, Medical and Scientific Affairs | 7 years at Octapharma

As a Clinical Nurse Educator, I love the one-on-one interaction with patients and family members, and I love sharing information about our products and how they have changed lives all over the world. I am truly inspired by the remarkable individuals I meet in the bleeding disorders community.

What I like most about being a Clinical Nurse Educator at Octapharma is that it allows me to travel and meet such wonderful and inspiring people. These remarkable individuals are part of a community that once viewed being diagnosed with a bleeding disorder as the “beginning of the end.” Not anymore. Today, they fight tirelessly to turn their diagnosis around, and I’m right there cheering them on. I love the one-on-one interaction with patients and family members. I love sharing information about our products and how they have changed lives all over the world.

Another thing I like about working at Octapharma USA is the autonomy given to me by my manager. He consistently shows me that he trusts me and the decisions I make. I was the first Clinical Nurse Educator hired into the company. Since the role was then nonexistent, I was provided the opportunity to mold the position and the responsibilities assigned to the role. This opportunity has helped me grow as a presenter and team member. When the company decided to hire a second Clinical Nurse Educator, I was asked to interview her and give my recommendation. This spoke volumes to me. It meant that my opinion and expertise were valued. Recognizing and honoring individuals is fundamental to our culture here. Managers take the time to get to know you on a personal level. They realize that in order for the company to be successful, you must be successful. It inspires me to do my best.

The most compelling thing to me about being part of the Octapharma USA team is the company’s family environment. It really is a family-owned business, and this feeling of family extends to all employees. We’re all in it together and we succeed as one. Whenever I’ve needed help from an Octapharma family member, they’ve always been there for me.

My advice for job seekers? Believe in the work you’re applying to do. This industry is not for the faint of heart. It requires sacrifice, dedication and sincere conviction about what you represent for the company. Your success means success for everyone. As long as you do your part, Octapharma will do theirs to help you achieve your goals. Always know that you can lean on your team and your available resources.
