Privacy statement for residents of California

The following privacy statement applies to personal information obtained from and about residents of the State of California, whether collected online or in-person (for instance, in connection with their interaction with Octapharma representatives, their use of Octapharma products and services, and/or visiting the Octapharma website). This statement does not apply to California residents who are also Octapharma job applicants, employees, medical staff, or contractors.
Information Octapharma Collects
Octapharma may collect the following categories of personal information from California residents in connection with their interaction with Octapharma representatives, their use of our products and services, and/or visiting our website:
Identifiers, such as your name, address, online identifier, and email address.
Categories of personal information listed in the California Customer Records Statute (Cal. Civ. Code § 1798.80(e)), such as your name, signature, physical characteristics or description, address, and telephone number.
Protected classification characteristics under California or Federal law, such as your age (40 years or older) and any medical conditions.
Inferences drawn from other personal information, such as your profile reflecting your preferences, characteristics, psychological trends, predispositions, behavior, attitudes, intelligence, abilities, and aptitudes.
Octapharma collects this information directly from California residents themselves, as well as from public databases, government records, registries, and professional organizations.
How Octapharma Uses Your Personal Information
Octapharma may use personal information of California residents for the following business purposes:
For legal, safety, or security reasons, Octapharma is required by law to collect the above categories of personal information to comply with applicable governmental or health regulations, or other legal requirements to protect the rights, property, and safety of our employees and others and to otherwise meet our legal obligations.
Octapharma requires your contact information in order to provide you with information regarding our products or services and send to you notices and other information that may be of interest to you.
Octapharma may use and share any information we collect from you in a de-identified or aggregate format for testing, medical research, analysis, and product development.
Sharing Personal Information with Others
Octapharma may disclose your personal information to the following categories of other parties for the business purposes disclosed above:
Octapharma parent companies, subsidiaries, and affiliated companies;
Octapharma service providers acting on our behalf (e.g., advertising agencies, third parties assisting us with marketing efforts, IT, data collection and maintenance, etc.).
Governmental or health authorities, including law enforcement and other parties to the extent needed to meet Octapharma’s legal obligations or to assert or defend any claims by or against us, our employees, or agents.
Academic institutions and other companies engaged in biologics or pharmaceutical research.
Octapharma currently does not sell any personal information that it has collected from California residents.
Your Right to Know About Personal Information Collected or Disclosed
As a resident of California, you have a right to request that Octapharma informs you of what personal information we have collected, used, disclosed, and/or sold about you; the categories of personal information Octapharma has collected about you in the preceding 12 months; the categories of sources from which the personal information is collected; the business or commercial purpose for collecting or selling personal information; and the categories of personal information, if any, that Octapharma has disclosed for a business purpose or sold to third parties in the preceding 12 months. California law also provides that you have a right to request that Octapharma delete the information we have collected from you.
You (or an authorized representative) may submit a Request to Know or a Request to Delete by e-mailing dataprivacy@octapharma.com or by calling 201 604 1130. Should you have any questions or concerns about this Privacy Statement, please contact us via email or the toll-free telephone number above.
Upon receiving your Request to Know or Request to Delete, Octapharma will verify your identity before deleting any personal information, or disclosing any information concerning the categories or specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you. To verify your request, Octapharma will ask you for some personal information that we can match with personal information that we already have about you. In some cases, we may ask you to submit a signed declaration under penalty of perjury that you are the California resident whose personal information is the subject of the request. If you designate a representative to submit a request on your behalf, we will need to verify both the identity of the representative, and that you have given him or her written permission to make a request for you.
We will acknowledge receipt of a Request to Know or Request to Delete within 10 business days of receipt and advise how we expect to process the request. Octapharma will respond to such requests within 45 calendar days. If we anticipate that it will take longer to respond to your Request to Know or Request to Delete (but in no event longer than 90 calendar days from receipt of the request), Octapharma will inform you in writing why additional time is needed.
Octapharma will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your privacy rights under California law.
Octapharma may update this Privacy Statement for California Residents from time to time by updating this web page and by displaying the date of the last update at the bottom of the page. We encourage you to periodically check this website to learn about the information we collect, use, and share. Your continued use of Octapharma’s website affirms your agreement to such changes.
